We have had constant advances in Information and Communication Technologies and the ways that people share information, we use technologies to process this information, we need to teach students to be highly skilled in a variety of ICT's. New knowledge has produced new technologies, services, products and jobs (Kozma, 2008). Education has to increase the effectiveness of the teaching and learning (MCEETYA, 2008) in this area to meet the needs of the global economy.

Implemented in the Australian Curriculum is Information and Communication Technologies, students will research information from the internet through various search engines (Kop & Hill, 2008). This form of connectivism is relevant in the 21st century learning environment. E-Learning and teaching is an integral part of the curriculum (Thomas & Li, 2008).

Your children will learn many ways of interacting with technology as they are our future. They will think critically, collaborate and communicate with each other in teams, solve problems, create and continue to learn. A well know theorist John Dewey discovered that education was not just transformation of facts but children learning by doing and being engaged in the experience (Johnson & Reed, 2008).
